Gabriel Coltea
Managing Director

Gabriel Coltea founded Rubicon in 2013 to deliver a real estate enterprise that combined an entrepreneurial and creative spirit with equally rooted institutional fundamentals in an unwavering pursuit of value-add opportunities in non-core markets.

Prior to forming Rubicon, Gabe spent two decades in New York City, initially as a corporate attorney and subsequently in various executive positions with real estate investment and development companies with more than 20 million square feet of retail and office properties across the country and in excess of 10 million square feet of developed and/or redeveloped assets. During these tenures, he managed the deployment of more than $800 Million of institutional, private and public capital, and negotiated and executed in excess of $4 Billion of acquisitions and divestitures. Gabe was also responsible for over $2 Billion of senior, mezzanine and public debt financing, while spearheading approximately $3 Billion of strategic alliances and joint ventures, including a complex $2.3 Billion venture spin-off. In addition to his executive and transactional experience, Gabe’s on-the-ground operational experience includes instrumental roles in the development and construction of numerous mixed-use and residential projects, as well as asset management oversight of millions of square feet of retail, multi-family and office products.

Gabe holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University and a law degree from The University of Texas School of Law.

Alex Pemberton
Investments Associate

A native of Kansas, Alex Pemberton began his career in brokerage with a specialization in urban retail leasing and investment sales. Alex later founded Yellowbrick Street Team, a nonprofit placemaking and tactical urbanism organization that received national recognition for its projects and advocacy. Alex joined Rubicon in Summer 2019 and is involved in the firm’s acquisitions, underwriting, investment, and development activities.

Alex holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wichita State University and a Master of Real Estate Development from Clemson University.

Megan Kelly
Operations Manager

Megan Kelly moved to Nashville in 2011 and joined Rubicon in 2019 from the nonprofit sector. As Rubicon’s operations manager, she uses her administrative and organizational skills to coordinate the day-to-day functions of the firm and serves as the primary asset manager for each of Rubicon’s properties.

Megan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida Gulf Coast University and a Master of Education from Tennessee State University.
